The multi-talented artist Vaundy has been announced as the creator of the theme song for the fourth installment of the My Hero Academia (MHA) movie series, titled "My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next," set to premiere on August 2. The new song, written specifically for this movie, is called "Homunculus." As a big fan of My Hero Academia himself, Vaundy expressed his excitement: "I am extremely honored to be involved in this beloved series and feel that this work will be a significant milestone in my musical journey."

Vaundy, who is known for his multifaceted talents in songwriting, composition, arrangement, design, and video direction, shared his thoughts on creating the song "Homunculus": "I remember grappling with the question of what my own 'quirk' is while making this song. I thought about how I could cheer on the characters of My Hero Academia in my own way and tried to encapsulate my answer in the song."

Alongside the announcement of the theme song, the cover art for the single was also unveiled. The artwork features a powerful line drawing of Deku, created by Yuki Hayashi, the character designer and chief animation director of the film.

Additionally, a 90-second trailer featuring "Homunculus" has been released. The trailer begins with a message from All Might to Dark Might, followed by scenes of Deku and his friends facing a mysterious new threat and an enigmatic glowing phenomenon. The trailer also highlights a moment where Julio says, "You have no idea what the young lady's 'quirk' is," as petals overflow from Anna, who is being targeted by Dark Might, hinting at many intriguing points.

In the latter half of the trailer, the theme song "Homunculus" plays as Deku's line, "Now it's our turn," triggers a series of intense action scenes featuring Class A and the pro heroes. The climactic showdown between All Might's successors and Dark Might promises to be a heart-pounding spectacle.

Every time I read or watch 'My Hero Academia,' I find myself reflecting on what my own 'quirk' is, what I possess, or if I possess anything at all. I always feel that 'quirks' are something passed down from predecessors, and I have a strong sympathy for Deku and his friends, drawing courage from the protagonist who fights bravely.

When creating this song, I remember grappling with the question of what my own 'quirk' is. I thought about how I could cheer on the characters of My Hero Academia in my own way and tried to encapsulate my answer in the song.
