The first episode of MAPPA's original TV anime Zenshu. is set to air on January 5 in Japan, followed by staggered releases on streaming platforms worldwide.
The title Zenshu (JP:全修) is derived from an anime industry term meaning "complete revision" or "all retakes." The main staff includes Mitsue Yamazaki as director, Kimiko Ueno as scriptwriter, Yoshiki Tsujino as character concept artist, and Kayoko Ishikawa as character designer, with MAPPA handling production.

Up-and-coming anime director Natsuko Hirose is working on storyboards for her new romantic comedy film centered on first love. However, having never experienced first love herself, Natsuko struggles to complete her work.
Synopsis: Zenshu
Natsuko Hirose discovered her talent as an animator after graduating high school and quickly rose to fame, debuting as a director in record time. Her first directorial work became a societal phenomenon, earning her the title of a genius director. For her next project, she takes on a feature-length romantic comedy exploring the theme of first love. However, Natsuko has never been in love, leaving her unable to grasp the concept of first love and halting her progress on the storyboards. One day, while struggling with her work, she loses consciousness. When she wakes up, she finds herself inside the world of A Dying Story, an anime film she adored as a child.
