“Hell’s Paradise” Season 2 Premieres January 2026: New Teaser PV Released, Animated by MAPPA
The second season of the TV anime Hell’s Paradise is set to premiere in January 2026 on broadcast and streaming platforms. A new teaser PV was released alongside the announcement during the “Jump Festa 2025” stage event held on December 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The event featured appearances by Yumiri Hanamori (Sagiri Yamada Asaemon), Makoto Koichi (Nurugai), and an editorial team member, who reflected on the series’ history and shared their thoughts on the upcoming season.
The teaser PV, which features newly animated cuts, showcases Sagiri and her team venturing deeper into the mysterious Shinsenkyo. The video also highlights intense action sequences, even more dynamic than in the first season. Additionally, it introduces new executioners, including Shugen Yamada Asaemon, who have arrived on the island, raising anticipation for Season 2.
After watching the teaser PV on stage, Koichi commented, “New characters, including Shugen, are making their debut. I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll perform.” Hanamori addressed fans eagerly awaiting the second season, saying, “I’m excited to finally bring this to you. From here on, I hope to portray something truly human and radiant through the struggles.”
The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Yuji Kaku, which was serialized on the Shonen Jump+ app from 2018 to 2021. Set in the late Edo period, it is a tale of ninja adventure and romance.
The story follows Gabimaru, a feared ninja, who is captured as a fugitive. He is offered amnesty by Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, an executioner, on the condition that he retrieves the “Elixir of Immortality” from a fabled paradise. Driven by love for his wife, Gabimaru agrees and ventures to the island. However, his path is fraught with challenges, including other death-row convicts seeking freedom and the mysterious monsters lurking on the island.

Comments from the Director, Kaori Makita
“Thank you to everyone who watched the first season of Hell’s Paradise and those eagerly awaiting the second season. I’m truly happy to be part of Gabimaru’s story again. In Season 1, the characters survived while grappling with their struggles. This time, I’m focused on how to depict their emotional growth and how to bring key scenes from the manga to life. Every day, I’m thinking about Gabimaru and the others. A talented team passionate about Hell’s Paradise has come together to work on Season 2, and the atmosphere during production is fantastic. Please look forward to it.”
