Episode 34 “Dramatic Exchange” Story

In the second half of the match, Shidou steps onto the field as the center forward for Japan’s U-20 team. Driven solely by his hunger for goals, Shidou’s erratic movements disrupt both teammates and opponents alike, creating chaos on the field.

The dynamic takes a dramatic turn as Sendo synchronizes with Shidou's aggressive playstyle, revitalizing the U-20 Japan team’s offense. Their strategy transforms entirely from the first half, rapidly advancing the ball toward the goal.

Near the penalty area, the ball lands with Sae. Expecting him to take a direct shot, the Blue Lock Eleven brace themselves for the strike... but something unexpected unfolds.

Spotlight Character in Blue Lock EP 34

■Ryusei shidou

Episode 34 dives into the second half of the intense match between Blue Lock and the Japan U-20 team. One of the key highlights is Ryusei Shidou. Known for his aggressive personality, Shidou had faced disciplinary action within Blue Lock. However, Sae Itoshi recognized his talent, saying he was someone he wanted to “team up with.” This led to Shidou being scouted to join the U-20 team as a representative, despite being a Blue Lock participant.

In the first half, Shidou was excluded from the starting lineup due to a pre-match altercation with Sendou, the ace of the Japan U-20 team. But in the second half, Shidou is finally subbed in, unleashing his pent-up frustration through an extraordinary performance.

About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It tells the story of a national high school soccer project launched by Japan following their defeat in the Soccer World Cup, aiming to create a forward player with "overwhelming egoism." The project gathers 300 high school soccer players—all forwards—where 299 will have to give up their soccer dreams for one to emerge as a revolutionary striker who can change the future of Japanese soccer.

The manga has surpassed 40 million copies in circulation, and the first season of the TV anime aired from October 2022 to March 2023.
