Blue Lock anime is based on the manga serialized in *Weekly Shōnen Magazine*. It follows a nationwide project initiated by Japan to develop a high school forward with "overwhelming egoism," which the Japanese national team lacked during the FIFA World Cup. The project involves gathering 300 high school forwards, with the story focusing on the rise of a striker who will revolutionize Japanese soccer, even at the cost of 299 other soccer careers. The manga has sold over 40 million copies, and the anime aired from October 2022 to March 2023.
