When will Hunter x Hunter resume…? Summary of HxH Author Togashi-sensei's Posts on X (formerly Twitter): Is the Series Resuming September?

4th week of June

An illustration of Gon drawn for the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump's 2000 issue 21/22. Below it is a doodle from my wife, Naoko Takeuchi's representative work, "Sailor Moon"! How precious is that!

This is an illustration of Gon that was published in the 1999 combined issue 4 and 5 of Weekly Shonen Jump.

This Gon holding a color spray can is an illustration specially drawn for Weekly Shonen Jump 2004 Issue 22-23.

An illustration of Gon featured up close on the cover of the 1999 Weekly Shonen Jump Extra Issue "Akamaru Jump." It is the same cover as the illustration of Gon posted on X on June 22, 2024.

I want to focus on the manuscript numbered '7'. The bottom right panel exudes a somewhat dark and ominous atmosphere. Hunter x Hunter often includes scenes like this, which adds to the tension.

This is an illustration of "Level E" that was specially drawn for the combined 5th and 6th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump in 1996. Below that is the "Idiot Prince," drawn by Mr. Togashi in June 2024. Mr. Togashi has stated, "I can't capture the madness of that time."

3rd week of June

Gon playing on a snowboard was drawn specifically for the cover illustration of the 2004 combined issue 4 and 5. The other illustration, with Gon spreading his arms and legs, is from the special winter 1999 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump's extra edition, Akamaru Jump.

It is a color illustration depicting Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. It's rare for this type of illustration to be released.

The illustration of Gon in color is depicted. On the left is the cover illustration from the Weekly Shonen Jump 2004 combined issue 6&7. In Japan, there is a calendar system called the zodiac, which originated from mainland China, and since that year was the Year of the Monkey, the protagonists of Jump's serialized works at that time were dressed in monkey costumes. On the right is the one featured on the cover of the Jump combined issue 3&4 in 2000.

These illustrations were drawn in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 5 of 2003 and the combined issue 6 and 7 of the same year.
It's quite rare to see Gon in a hakama!

This time, it's an illustration of Gon cut out from the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump's 2003 issue 52, the same issue as the previous day.

A manuscript with just a small part of someone's feet drawn. It seems the progress of the manuscript is going well.

Regarding the work on the color manuscript, Togashi-sensei commented that it "gave him energy." It is Killua, featured on the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 52 of 2003.

2nd week of June

This is an illustration of Genthru from the Greed Island arc of Hunter x Hunter. It vividly conveys a sense of eeriness, instilling fear in both us and the players of Greed Island.

This is an illustration of Gon modeled after Ebisu, one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese tradition. Ebisu is believed to bring blessings such as safety in navigation and prosperity in business. The figure depicted on the label of the famous Japanese beer, Yebisu Beer, is Ebisu.

This is an illustration of Killua and Gon, cut out from the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump 2011 issue 42. At this time, the second anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter had been decided. Both Gon and Killua show expressions typical of boys.

This depicts a person wearing a necktie. They could be a member of the Hunter Association or a guard from the Kakin Empire from the Dark Continent arc. It is a post that stirs the imagination.
