His goal is to find his missing parents and restore a “normal life” with his family.

Calm and composed, Yuru fights with a rational and methodical approach, making full use of his archery skills and his ability to conceal his presence. He is said to be the successor to the power of Seal (封, Fuu), an ability that can “close” all things, though he has yet to awaken or wield this power.

Asa

Gabby

Gabby is a Tsugai user currently staying with the Kagemori family. She wears her hair in braids beneath a hood, and while her real name remains unknown, she insists that she is older than Yuru. At the same time, Gabby follows a strict personal rule that children must never be harmed, and she displays deep affection toward her own Tsugai. She is Asa’s close friend, and the two work together as manga assistants for Hikaru Kagemori. Gabby has a fondness for happy stories where no bad people appear.

Jin Kagemori

Hana Danno is a field operative from Higashimura who works as a “grave digger,” handling the disposal of bodies. She is a junior to Dera, and in order to shelter Yuru and the others, she enters into a sham marriage with him and takes on a maternal role within the group.

Despite her small stature, Hana is a combat oriented fighter and an avid strength trainer, wielding brass knuckles as her weapon of choice. Although she openly claims to dislike children, she is genuinely caring at heart and shows intense hostility toward adults who exploit them. Her Tsugai are Zenko Koro, a pair of canine and feline trackers known as Jiro and Kotetsu, specialists in pursuit and tracking.

Dera (Ryu Tadera)

Ryu Tadera, commonly known as “Dera,” is a local enforcer who handles the underworld work of Higashimura. Defying the village’s policy of sacrificing children, he becomes a protector to Yuru and the others, taking on a guardian role within the group.

A former mercenary, Ryu is highly skilled in firearms and intelligence work, making him a seasoned and capable fighter. In his private life, however, he is also a carefree gambler with a fondness for horse racing. After losing his own Tsugai in the past while it shielded him on the battlefield, he has not formed a new contract since. Despite this, he retains the ability to see Tsugai.

Left and Right

Profile:
Left and Right are komainu Tsugai who once served as the guardian deities of Higashimura and are now contracted to Yuru. They are a pair consisting of Right, a powerfully built, two horned male with a boisterous personality, and Left, a taciturn, one horned female who is calm yet aggressive in battle.

Right nullifies the power of Break by releasing shockwaves from his mouth, while Left counters the power of Seal, each playing a complementary role. With bodies made of living stone, they are immune to firearms and boast immense strength and durability, capable of repairing themselves even after sustaining damage.

Possibly as a reaction to the cruelty of their previous master, both Left and Right show deep gratitude toward Yuru and have grown openly attached to him.
