The latest volume 38 of the popular manga "HUNTER×HUNTER" will be released on September 4, as announced on Shueisha's official website. This marks the first new volume since volume 37, which was released on November 4, 2022, nearly two years ago.

"HUNTER×HUNTER" has been on hiatus since the last weekly serialization of chapter 400, published in the December 26, 2022, issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump." In that issue, the editorial team explained, "Considering Togashi-sensei's health, it has been decided after consultation between the author and the editorial team that the series will no longer follow a weekly serialization format."

They further stated, "Togashi-sensei continues to work on the story, and the editorial team will continue to support him until the series is completed. Details regarding the publication schedule and format will be announced in future issues of Weekly Shonen Jump. Thank you for your continued support of 'HUNTER×HUNTER'."

The series, which began serialization in 1998, follows the adventures of the protagonist Gon, who sets out on a journey with his friends, including his best friend Killua. Currently, the story is in the "Dark Continent Arc" (Succession War Arc), depicting the conflicts among characters like Kurapika and the Phantom Troupe aboard a ship heading for an unexplored continent. The series resumed serialization on October 24, 2022, with chapter 391 after a hiatus of 3 years and 11 months.

Volume 37, which is currently available, was released in November 2022, coinciding with the previous serialization resumption. The author, Togashi-sensei, has been updating his X account daily, sharing the progress of his manuscripts. This has led to widespread speculation and anticipation online, with comments like "Will the serialization resume in September?" "Could 'HUNTER×HUNTER' return as early as August?" and "He’s uploading his manuscript progress on X every day, so the resumption must be near."
