During the Cursed Womb: Death Painting Arc, Ijichi was forced to comply with the higher-ups' decision to send Yuji and his classmates on a mission with a high probability of encountering a Special Grade Curse. ■Shibuya Incident
During the Shibuya Incident Arc, Ijichi is ambushed and critically injured by curse user Haruta Shigemo (重面 春太). While assisting the Jujutsu High team, he is stabbed multiple times from behind, rendering him completely incapacitated.
