Disney & Pixar, known for creating heartwarming stories in imaginative, unique "what if" worlds such as "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc.," and "Coco," won the "88th Academy Award" for Best Animated Feature with "Inside Out" (2015), a story set in the world of emotions that exist inside every person.

The sequel, "Inside Out 2," is set inside the mind of Riley, a girl who has aged a bit and entered adolescence since the last film. It features the original emotions (Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear, Sadness) from the first movie, along with four new emotions that appear as she grows up: Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment.

The emotions that have watched over her since childhood—always positive and happy "Joy," shy and tearful but ultimately kinder and more thoughtful than anyone "Sadness," hot-headed "Anger" who can’t be calmed once enraged, "Disgust," who refuses anything she dislikes or finds tacky, and "Fear," who is always frightened but reacts quickly to impending dangers.

Joy and Sadness have been working hard every day to ensure Riley, who has adjusted to her new school and made new friends, lives happily. Then, one day, as Riley faces a significant turning point with her high school entrance looming, a "mysterious alarm" goes off inside her head. This brings about the appearance of the worst-case scenario imagining, overly-prepared "Anxiety," the small-bodied, large-eyed "Envy" who is always jealous of someone else, the always bored and lethargic "Ennui" who never lets go of his smartphone, and "Embarrassment," who gets so shy he hides his face with his hood when overwhelmed.

The special preview video showcases scenes such as Anxiety arriving with a huge load of luggage and frantically pressing buttons at the headquarters, Envy admiring Disgust’s hairstyle with sparkling eyes and jealousy, Ennui lying on the couch in the control room continuously staring at his smartphone, and Embarrassment hiding in his hood from too much shyness after a high-five with Joy, revealing the characteristics of the new characters in the world of emotions.

Just when it seemed all the emotions were coming together to make Riley happy, Anxiety declares to Joy and others, "Riley no longer needs you," and locks them in a bin, capping the "emotions," indicating a storm brewing ahead.

The teaser poster depicts the world of emotions spreading inside Riley’s mind as she gradually becomes an adult. The five emotions that have watched over her since childhood look up anxiously at the four new emotions of becoming an adult, amidst the command center destroyed by the onset of adolescence. What new turmoil will arise in Riley's mind, now filled with various emotions?

The directorial baton has been passed from Pete Docter, who was the original creator, writer, and director of the first film, to Kelsey Mann, who served as the story supervisor for "Monsters University," among others. Meg LeFauve, who was involved in writing the screenplay for the first film, is handling the screenplay for this one.

Director Kelsey Mann shared, "The new character Anxiety meets the existing emotions for the first time. But when you think about what's happening inside our heads, it makes a lot of sense."
