Nintendo announced on the 8th that it has started the planning and development of a live-action (live-action) movie based on the hugely popular game "The Legend of Zelda".

The producers of the movie are Shigeru Miyamoto, Representative Director and Fellow of Nintendo, and Avi Arad of Arad Productions Inc., who has produced numerous blockbuster movies.

The movie will be produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc., with Wes Ball serving as the director. Moreover, Nintendo will finance more than 50% of the movie's production costs, while Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. will handle the global distribution and co-financing.

Nintendo explained that by undertaking the film adaptation of Nintendo IP themselves, they aim to provide an opportunity for people around the world to engage with the world of entertainment cultivated by Nintendo through a different avenue than dedicated gaming devices.

This announcement marks an exciting development for fans of "The Legend of Zelda" series, promising to bring the beloved game's world to life on the big screen. The official English title for the game, "The Legend of Zelda," is used consistently with its recognized global identity.
