Athrun Zala Strikes Best Friend in "Gundam SEED" Movie, Partial Designs Released with Frame Film Distribution

The "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series, a highly popular anime, is set to release its first full new work in about 20 years, "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," on January 26th. Celebrating this release, a special frame film gift for attendees will start distribution on the 12th, featuring random designs from memorable scenes.

Among the released frame designs, there's a notable scene where Athrun Zala punches Kira, stirring interest among fans. The "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series began broadcasting in October 2002 as a 50-episode TV series, marking the first Gundam series produced in the 21st century. The story revolves around humanity, divided into genetically modified Coordinators and unmodified Naturals, engaging in warfare. Through the conflict, the series explores the turmoil and growth of Kira Yamato, a Coordinator.

Achieving a peak viewership of 8.0% and sparking a second Gunpla boom among elementary students, the series became a cultural phenomenon, attracting a wide fan base, including a significant female audience. Its sequel, "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY," aired from October 2004, surpassing the original with a peak viewership of 8.2% and contributing to the series' cumulative package sales exceeding 4 million units. The series transcended the anime TV series format, becoming a sweeping sensation across Japan through its music, events, and more.
