The story and preview images for Episode 10 of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (JP: 片田舎のおっさん、剣聖になる, Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru) have been released. This episode is scheduled to air in Japan on the TV Asahi network group starting June 7 at 11:30 PM (JST). Outside of Japan, the series will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

Episode 10 Story

“The Old Man from the Countryside Becomes a Royal Escort”

The deputy commander of the Church Knights from the neighboring kingdom of Sfendyardvania turns out to be none other than Rose Marblehart, a former disciple of Beryl Gardinant.

Beryl is reunited with Rose in an unexpected setting, allowing the two to briefly reminisce about old times. Soon after, the diplomatic delegation arrives. Beryl is assigned to a critical task—guarding the royals of both nations as they tour the capital.

Although the occasion is meant to be a bright and celebratory event, a troubling shadow begins to loom over the proceedings.

The anime is based on the light novel written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. Along with the manga adaptation by Kazuki Sato, the series has surpassed a total of 7 million copies in circulation.
