The Netflix Special Stage at AnimeJapan 2025 was held on March 22 at Tokyo Big Sight, where the latest trailer and key visuals for the upcoming anime Moonrise were revealed, alongside a major cast announcement.

Voice actor Chiaki Kobayashi, who plays the protagonist Jack, appeared on stage and shared his impressions after watching the trailer and key visuals. It was announced that Aina the End, who also performs the theme song, will voice the character “Marie.” Kobayashi praised her performance, stating, “Marie is a very important character. She’s filled with a charm that only Aina-san could portray. I really hope everyone keeps an eye on her.”

Reflecting on the production process, Kobayashi shared, “Even at the time of the first episode’s recording, the visuals were already complete. The animation and direction from WIT STUDIO were astonishingly powerful and fully present even during the dubbing process. Everyone involved poured their hearts and souls into this over a long period. I truly hope people will watch it.”

The AnimeJapan stage also featured appearances by Chiaki Kobayashi, Yu Kobayashi, Legoshi (from BEASTARS), My Melody, and MC Neki Matsuzawa.

Moonrise is a brand-new sci-fi anime based on an original story by writer Tow Ubukata, with character designs by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa. Directed by Masashi Koizuka and produced by WIT STUDIO, the anime will premiere exclusively on Netflix worldwide starting April 10, 2025.

The main characters are Jacob Shadow (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi) and Phil Ash (voiced by Yūto Uemura). The theme song, titled “Daijoubu” (“It’s Okay”), was written and composed by Aina the End specifically for the series.
