The first main promotional video (PV) for the anime The Summer Hikaru Died has been unveiled, alongside a set of eerie scene cuts and new cast announcements. The anime is scheduled for an exclusive global streaming release on Netflix and a free exclusive streaming run on ABEMA this summer, as well as a broadcast on Nippon TV.

In addition to the chilling visuals, the PV features an early preview of the ending theme song “Anata wa Kaibutsu” (You Are a Monster) performed by TOOBOE. The trailer immerses viewers in the show’s unique blend of refreshing coming-of-age drama and spine-tingling horror.

Three new voice cast members have been announced: Yumiri Hanamori as Asako Yamagishi, Wakana Kowaka as Rie Kurebayashi, and Chihiro Kobayashi as Tanaka.

Based on the manga by Mokumokuren, currently serialized on KADOKAWA’s Young Ace UP, The Summer Hikaru Died follows a seemingly ordinary high school boy named Yoshiki. His peaceful life is shattered when a mysterious being mimicking his childhood friend Hikaru enters his world. Together, they encounter a string of bizarre and unsettling incidents.
