The latest box office information for the 27th film in the "Detective Conan" series, "Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram" (released on April 12), has been announced. As of the 23rd, 73 days since its release, the film has attracted 10.52 million viewers and grossed 15.05 billion yen, making it the 10th Japanese film in history to surpass the 15 billion yen mark. TOHO, the distributor, expressed their excitement: "We are eagerly anticipating how far this film will go, as it is still being shown in many theaters!"

"Detective Conan" is a mystery manga about high school detective Shinichi Kudo, who is transformed into a child by a poison administered by men in black. He takes on the name Conan Edogawa and solves numerous challenging cases while tracking down the organization responsible. The manga has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" since 1994, with the TV anime starting in 1996 and the theatrical anime beginning in 1997. It has become a nationally beloved series.

The latest film, "Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram," attracted 630,000 viewers and grossed 960 million yen on its first day. By the 45th day, it had attracted 9.77 million viewers and grossed 14.01 billion yen, surpassing the previous series record of 13.88 billion yen set by "Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare" (2023).

The story of this film is set in Hakodate and features a showdown between Heiji Hattori and Kaito Kid. Heiji, who has repeatedly missed opportunities to confess his feelings to Kazuha, faces off against his old rival Kid. In a previous case involving the "Fairy’s Lip" pearl, Heiji almost kissed Kazuha, who was disguised as Kid.

Will Heiji, who becomes a bumbling detective around Kazuha, repay his debt to Kid and finally confess to her in this latest film? The film also features Momiji Ooka, Iori Muga, and Soshi Okita, who watch over Heiji and Kazuha.
