While chasing the organization that poisoned him, he solves numerous complex cases. The manga, which began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" in 1994, led to a TV anime in 1996 and a movie adaptation in 1997, becoming a nationally beloved series.

The latest film, "Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram," drew 630,000 viewers and grossed 960 million yen on its opening day. Toho, the distributor, noted that compared to the previous highest-grossing film in the series, "Detective Conan: The Black Iron Submarine" (released on April 14, 2023, which grossed 13.88 billion yen), this new film achieved 112% of its performance, marking a mega-hit start with the potential to set a new all-time record. The film surpassed the 10 billion yen mark within 22 days of its release.

The story of this film is set in Hakodate, featuring a showdown between Heiji Hattori and Kaitou Kid. Heiji, who has repeatedly missed opportunities to confess to Kazuha, faces his old rival, Kid. Previously, during the case involving the Konk Pearl "Fairy's Lip," Heiji almost kissed Kazuha, who Kid was disguised as.

In the latest movie, will Heiji, who turns into a bumbling detective when Kazuha is involved, repay Kid and finally confess to Kazuha? Supporting characters Momiji Ooka, Iori Muga, and Soshi Okita also make appearances.
