Manga artist Gosho Aoyama, known for "Detective Conan," has announced that his manga "YAIBA" will be adapted into a completely new anime. This marks the first anime production since the final episode aired in 1994, 30 years ago. Visuals and a special preview video have been released, and Aoyama, who is fully supervising the script, commented, "Whether you know YAIBA or not, please watch it! It's awesome!!!"

"YAIBA" follows the action-packed adventures of Kurogane Yaiba, a samurai wild child training in the jungle, who inadvertently returns to Japan and seeks further strength in new training grounds, pushing forward with his unwavering samurai spirit. He encounters his rival Takeshi Onimaru, and their spectacular journey begins when Onimaru acquires a "legendary demonic sword." Serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1993, "YAIBA" has become a popular series, surpassing 17 million copies in total comic book volume sales. The TV anime was broadcast from 1993 to 1994. The manga continued until about a month before the start of "Detective Conan" in 1994, making it one of Aoyama's renowned works. In the latest issue of "Weekly Shonen Sunday" No. 24, released today, a visual poster drawn by Aoyama is featured. It centers on the protagonist Kurogane Yaiba, who, wielding the Thunder God Sword, stares intently forward, surrounded by various important swords from the story. The special preview video promises to heighten expectations for the series.

The completely new anime production has already started voice recording, with cast and staff details to be announced later.
