"Detective Conan" TCG Flies Off the Shelves, Surpassing 20 Million Cards Shipped, Making History in Card Games
The trading card game (TCG) of the popular anime "Detective Conan," released on May 4th, has surpassed 20 million cards shipped, as announced in today's issue of "Weekly Shonen Sunday" dated May 8th.
This card game was planned in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the serialization of the manga "Detective Conan." The "Detective Conan Card Game" series not only allows players to enjoy the world of the series but also includes newly drawn cards by the original creator Gosho Aoyama and original artwork exclusively for the TCG. This product offers not only the enjoyment of the game itself but also the appeal of collecting, reaching both TCG enthusiasts and a wide range of "Detective Conan" fans.
The first release includes the expansion pack "CT-P901 Detective Conan TCG Case-Booster 01: Detectives' Trump Card (Joker)," containing six cards per pack, priced at 308 yen (tax included), and starter decks of 42 cards each for five characters (Conan Edogawa, Heiji Hattori, Kaito Kid, Shuichi Akai, and Toru Amuro). The release date was set to coincide with the birthday of the protagonist, Conan Edogawa/Shinichi Kudo, on May 4th.
According to today's "Weekly Shonen Sunday," the Conan TCG has "achieved the best start in card history! This momentum is unstoppable now!"
