On its first day, the film attracted 630,000 viewers and earned 960 million yen. According to Toho, the distributor, this start is 112% compared to the series' previous record-breaking hit, "Detective Conan: The Black Iron Submarine" (released April 14, 2023, with a total gross of 13.88 billion yen), indicating a potential new all-time high record.

For context, "Detective Conan: The Black Iron Submarine" had reached 4.07 million attendees and a box office of 5.87 billion yen within its first 10 days. The current film maintains a stronger momentum than its predecessor.

The story of the latest film is set in Hakodate and features a clash between Heiji Hattori and the notorious thief Kaito Kid. The plot revolves around Heiji, who consistently misses opportunities to confess his love to Kazuha. Their story gets more complicated when Kid, who once disguised himself as Kazuha during an incident involving the 'Fairy's Lip' pearl, nearly kissed Heiji in a case of mistaken identity.

With Heiji often turning into a bumbling detective when Kazuha is involved, the latest film raises the question: Will he finally manage to confess his feelings to Kazuha and settle his score with Kaito Kid? Supporting characters such as Momiji Ooka, Iori Muga, and Soshi Okita also appear in the narrative, adding depth to the storyline.
