The psychological gambling manga Junket Bank will receive a television anime adaptation scheduled to air in October. Along with the announcement, a key visual and details about the main cast and staff were revealed. Soma Saito will voice Shin Mafutsu, while Rikuya Yasuda will portray Akira Mitarai. The animation production will be handled by CUE.

A High Stakes Psychological Gambling Story Set Inside a Bank
Junket Bank is a manga by Ikko Tanaka currently serialized in Weekly Young Jump published by Shueisha. The story unfolds in a bank where the most money obsessed individuals in the country gather. Faced with enormous wealth that is meticulously controlled, someone arrives at a bold conclusion. A bank could become the ultimate gambling arena.
Akira Mitarai is a rookie banker who is suddenly transferred to an unfamiliar department called the Special Operations Division. Guided by his new superior, he enters a secret gambling venue operated by the bank itself.
Among the bizarre and intense gamblers gathered there stands Shin Mafutsu, a gambler whose presence is overwhelmingly distinctive. Fascinated by Mafutsu, Mitarai abandons his dull everyday life and steps into a world driven by life risking passion.
Excitement, despair, pleasure, ruin, and admiration. Everything exists within this arena. A new era of gambling battles begins where bankers and gamblers collide.
Key Visual Captures Mafutsu’s Dangerous Charm
The newly revealed visual features Shin Mafutsu resting his cheek on his hand at a casino table with a faint smile. Bundles of cash and piles of chips are scattered across the table, symbolizing both the seductive thrill of gambling and the ominous atmosphere of a place where one should not step too far.

Shin Mafutsu
Soma Saito Comment
Q: What do you find appealing about this work?
Saito:
The most captivating aspect is the deception and mind games between characters who possess extraordinary intelligence and are not bound by common sense or conventional ethics. Just one miscalculation can completely overturn the situation, and until you turn the page, you never know what will happen next. I think it offers an incredibly thrilling reading experience that is hard to find elsewhere.
Every character is fascinating, but I personally like Murasame the most. That said, Shishigami is cute, and Usami has a certain allure as well. Honestly, I like them all.
Q: What is your impression of Shin Mafutsu?
Saito:
I originally read the manga as a fan before joining the project, but Mafutsu was the most mysterious character to me. I could not even imagine what his voice might sound like. That is how elusive he is as a character, and he carries an unfathomable chaos within him.
“There is no answer in the mirror that will save you.” It is such an incredibly cool line. As a voice actor, it is exactly the kind of line you would dream of saying at least once.
While peering into the depths of his character and at the same time being drawn into that abyss myself, I plan to give everything I have in the recording sessions.
Q: Please share a message for fans of the original manga.
Saito:
Once again, my name is Soma Saito, and I will be voicing Shin Mafutsu. Recording has not started yet, but both as a fan of the original work and as an actor, I am incredibly excited. I hope everyone will enjoy the world of Junket Bank as it comes to life in the anime.

Akira Mitarai
Rikuya Yasuda Comment
Q: What do you find appealing about this work?
Yasuda:
I feel the appeal of this series lies in its incredibly well crafted games, the gamblers who literally risk everything to enjoy them, and the completely unpredictable endings that arrive each time.
No matter how much you try to think it through or question everything, the story will always betray your expectations. In fact, the distance between us and these gamblers is so overwhelming that it becomes strangely comfortable rather than frustrating.
I would really love to take a look inside Tanaka sensei’s mind.
Q: What is your impression of Akira Mitarai?
Yasuda:
He is the character whose impression changed the most for me from when I first started reading until now.
At first, I thought he would simply guide the story from the same perspective as the audience as a sincere and straightforward banker. But before you realize it, he ends up walking down a completely different path.
However, when you watch Mafutsu’s gambling, you start to understand why Mitarai feels that way. Just like Mitarai, who is curious about Mafutsu’s ultimate fate, I am also very interested to see where he ends up and what he ultimately witnesses.
Q: Please share a message for fans of the original manga.
Yasuda:
Once again, my name is Rikuya Yasuda, and I will be voicing Akira Mitarai.
When I first read this work, I felt that it had a powerful charm that strongly pulls people in from every possible angle.
I may still be a relatively new reader compared with many fans, but I will face the role of Akira with everything I have so that no one can surpass my dedication to him.
I hope you will also look forward to the anime.
