The television anime Kaiju No. 8 is set to be adapted into a game for smartphones and PCs for the first time. This joint project involves Akatsuki Games Inc., which is responsible for planning, production, development, and management, along with Toho Co., Ltd., and Production I.G., the companies behind the anime.

Along with the game announcement, the first trailer has also been released. It depicts Kaiju No. 8 and the 3rd Division of the Defense Force engaging in fierce battles within a city devastated by kaiju attacks. The trailer has heightened expectations, showcasing how the world and action scenes of "Kaiju No. 8," which have garnered significant acclaim in the anime, will be represented in the game.

Kaiju No. 8 is set in a world where kaiju (monsters) relentlessly invade daily life, with Japan being one of the countries with the highest kaiju occurrence rates. The story follows 32-year-old Kafka Hibino, who works in a job cleaning up the corpses of defeated kaiju and dreams of becoming a member of the Defense Force. Amid his pursuit, his body is transformed into a kaiju by a mysterious creature, leading to his designation as "Kaiju No. 8" by the Japan Defense Force.
