The fourth installment of the "Anime Kaiju Hyakkei" for the TV anime "Kaiju No. 8" (broadcasting in April 2024) has been released. Additionally, it was announced that the cast for the roles of Kikoru Shinomiya and Soshiro Hoshina, the vice-captain, will be revealed at the "Jump Festa 2024 Super Stage RED" to be held on December 17th.

"Kaiju Hyakkei" is a visual project published in "Shonen Jump+." It lets you imagine a world where monsters appear, depicting everyday moments and battles with monsters not shown in the main story, allowing you to enjoy the unique world of this work even more.

This month's visual, the third installment, features "Monster No. 8" looking down upon a city destroyed by monsters. After defeating the monster that appeared in the city, Monster No. 8, who must hide his identity, fights alone to protect people. What does he think as he battles in solitude? The scene captures the conflict of a man who has become a monster. The meticulously detailed background further enhances the realism of the world of the work.

Additionally, on the rooftop of a building, there are also images of Mina Ashiro, the captain of the Defense Force 3rd Division, and her partner, the monster hunter. Soshiro Hoshina, skilled in close combat, and Mina, proficient in long-range attacks, are the main forces of the 3rd Division. The powerful image of these two heading into battle raises expectations for the action in the anime.

"Kaiju No. 8" is set in a world where disasters (monsters) mercilessly invade everyday life, with Japan, which has one of the highest monster emergence rates in the world, as the stage. Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old protagonist who works in a company that cleans up the remains of monsters defeated by the Defense Force, dreams of becoming a "Defense Force officer." In pursuit of his dream, he is transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature and becomes known as "Monster No. 8" by the Japan Defense Force.

Since its serialization started in July 2020 on "Shonen Jump+," it has become the fastest in the app's history to surpass 30 million views. The total circulation of the comics has exceeded 11 million, making it a flagship title. Moreover, it won the grand prize in the "Web Manga Category" of the "Next Manga Awards 2021" announced on August 24, 2021, based on user votes, and achieved the top annual sales for its first volume in 2020.
