――Why did you use mechas from “The Witch from Mercury” for this project?

lllo: As I got more Gunpla from “The Witch from Mercury,” I realized I could recreate the Ginyu Force entirely with Gundams. “The Witch from Mercury” was the first Gundam series I watched in real-time. The characters and story were incredibly captivating, and I became a big fan. It was also the first time I lined up to buy Gunpla on release day. By the way, I’m a fan of Guel (laughs).

――The “Aerial Rebuild Type” is in the Frieza position. Could you explain the placement of each mecha in their respective positions?

lllo: Aerial Rebuild Type is in the final boss position as Frieza. The overwhelmingly strong Calibarn as Captain Ginyu. The attack-type Schwarzette as Jeice. The bizarre Rubris Thorn as Guldo. The muscular Rubris Ur as Recoome. The long-limbed Pharact as Burter. Each placement reflects the characteristics of the respective mecha.

――The arrangement is excellent. What were your main focuses and challenges during the creation of this work?

lllo: I focused on faithfully recreating the poses as much as possible. The biggest challenge was getting Pharact to stand on one leg.

――The ability to achieve such “free poses” is thanks to the evolution of Gunpla, which has expanded their range of motion.

lllo: It’s a delightful evolution, making it easy to recreate the poses I imagine. I was particularly surprised by Rubris Ur’s wide range of motion despite its bulky build.

――With the evolution of Gunpla, your expressions seem to be expanding. Could you share your future goals, dreams, and ambitions as a modeler?

lllo: I hope to continue creating works that make people chuckle.
