About Demon Slayer
Based on the hit manga that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in Japan’s Taisho era, where man-eating demons lurk in the shadows. It follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons, as he joins the Demon Slayer Corps to restore his sister Nezuko—turned into a demon—back into a human, and to defeat the demon responsible for his family’s death. The manga has surpassed 220 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The anime adaptation began with the Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc aired from April to September 2019, generating huge popularity and leading to the 2020 release of the record-breaking film Mugen Train, which grossed approximately 51.7 billion yen worldwide. Subsequent adaptations include a video game, a stage play, and further TV arcs: Entertainment District Arc (December 2021), Swordsmith Village Arc (April 2023), and Hashira Training Arc (May–June 2024). The upcoming Infinity Castle Arc is being produced as a trilogy, with the first installment, Infinity Castle Arc Part 1: The Return of Akaza, now playing in 452 theaters (393 standard + 59 IMAX) across Japan. This chapter depicts the final showdown between the Demon Slayer Corps and the formidable Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Rank demons inside the Infinity Castle.
