‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Shows So Much!? Tanjiro & Giyu vs. Akaza Battle Scene Unveiled Using Actual Film Footage

A new commercial featuring actual footage from the film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc: Part 1 – Akaza Returns has been released. Titled “Decisive Battle CM #1: Tanjiro Kamado & Giyu Tomioka vs. Akaza,” it showcases the fierce fight between Tanjiro and Giyu against Akaza within the Infinity Castle. The scene cuts capture the tension and intensity of this deadly battle.

Based on the immensely popular manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in the Taisho era, where man-eating demons roam. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family was slaughtered by demons, as he joins the Demon Slayer Corps to find a way to return his demon-transformed sister Nezuko to human form and to defeat the demon who killed his family. The manga has surpassed 220 million copies in circulation worldwide.

The TV anime adaptation began with the “Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc” broadcast from April to September 2019, which became a major hit. The subsequent film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train premiered in October 2020, grossing approximately 51.7 billion yen worldwide and becoming a social phenomenon.

Tanjiro

The franchise has since expanded into games and stage plays, with the “Entertainment District Arc” airing in December 2021, the “Swordsmith Village Arc” in April 2023, and the “Hashira Training Arc” from May to June 2024. The Infinity Castle Arc is being produced as a trilogy of theatrical films. Part 1, The Return of Akaza, depicts the Demon Slayer Corps’ final battle within the demons’ stronghold, the Infinity Castle, against their ultimate enemy Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Rank demons. The film is currently showing in 452 theaters nationwide (393 standard + 59 IMAX).
