On May 7th, Nintendo announced plans to reveal the successor to the Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year.

On the official X (formerly Twitter) page, Nintendo's president, Mr. Furukawa, stated, "Since announcing the existence of the Nintendo Switch in March 2015, it has been nine years. We plan to announce its successor within this fiscal period."

Additionally, Mr. Furukawa mentioned, "We will hold a Nintendo Direct in June to discuss the late 2024 Switch game lineup, but it will not cover the new successor model. Please do not be mistaken."

On X, the topic "Successor to the Nintendo Switch" has trended worldwide, generating reactions such as, "It would be great if it could play past titles like the DS," "Can't believe it's already been seven years since the Switch was released. Looking forward to the new hardware," "Very excited!", "I'm really looking forward to this.
