Originally launched in 2002, "The Manga Guide to World History" has been a beloved long-seller among readers. The latest edition not only shifts from a large-format hardcover to a more portable paperback version but also completely revamps its content. Each volume has increased by 56 pages, offering dramatic and comprehensible historical narratives through beautifully illustrated comics, engaging characters, and captivating stories that immerse readers in the respective epochs.

The new edition addresses contemporary educational emphases in high school history textbooks, such as "Global History," which provides a cross-cutting view of world history, and "Inquiry," which encourages students to explore questions and solutions on their own. It also highlights historical interactions across continents, including European, Asian, Middle Eastern, and African histories, emphasizing movements of people, goods, and cultures. This is the series' first attempt to align with the revised guidelines for history education.

For example, Araki portrays Napoleon, Hara illustrates Ramses II, and Horikoshi depicts Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, each symbolizing the era covered in their respective volumes. Each volume is priced at 1,100 yen, with the complete set available for 19,800 yen.
