Regarding the film's reception, a public relations representative explained, "On social media, there have been continuous praises such as 'I couldn't stop crying throughout the screening, and I cry even when I remember it,' 'The pinnacle of modern animation,' 'Not a single wasted scene,' 'Immense respect for the original work,' and 'The reason for the film adaptation is in the main story.' Word-of-mouth continues to spread."

"Look Back," drawn by "Chainsaw Man" creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, tells the growth story of Fujino, a fourth-grade student, and her truant classmate Kyomoto through their shared love of manga. One day, a life-shattering event occurs. The coming-of-age story begins when their four-panel manga is published in the school newspaper and follows their lives through middle and high school. When the 143-page one-shot was published on Shonen Jump+ on July 19, 2021, it received an overwhelming response with comments like "Genius" and "Too shocking for words," garnering over 2.5 million views on its first day. It was ranked number one in the "This Manga is Amazing! 2022" male edition and nominated for the "Manga Taisho 2022" award. The film stars Yumi Kawai and Mizuki Yoshida in dual leading roles.
