The TV anime "Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You" is set to begin airing on TBS, BS11, and other channels starting January 2025. "Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You" is a school romance story that follows the love lives of four childhood friends and the protagonist, Miho Nishino. On July 1, 2020, Miho, a second-year high school student, faces the worst 17th birthday ever. She misses the chance to get close to her admired senior, her parents forget her birthday entirely, and due to an unknown infectious disease, club tournaments and school trips are canceled. Just as she thinks, "There's no such thing as a 'sparkling youth' for me," her childhood friend Kizuki suddenly declares himself a "boyfriend candidate." The teaser PV features a scene where Miho and her four childhood friends head to school together, each speaking to Miho, with her inner voice saying, "I knew it. Things can't stay the same forever," leaving a lasting impression and hinting at future developments.
Sakura Shinhuku's Comments:
Q1. What do you think is the charm of this work?
One of the charms of "Koishima" is that it portrays high school students living in days different from what they took for granted, with school events and club activities being canceled due to an infectious disease. It makes us realize that even days that seem empty are filled with irreplaceable encounters and precious moments. I hope not only students but also people of various generations will watch it!
Q2. What are your thoughts on playing Miho Nishino?
I'm Sakura Shinhuku, and I will be playing Miho Nishino. There are several parts of Miho that I find similar to myself during my high school days, and I felt a sense of familiarity with her from the moment I first read the original work. She's a normal high school girl who runs through each day while struggling with her relationships with the people she cares about and her own feelings. I hope to portray Miho as authentically as possible, sharing her worries, tears, and laughter. I will give my all to bring an unadorned, real Miho to life!
Kazuki Ura 's Comments:
Q1. What do you think is the charm of this work?
I really like the down-to-earth love stories of the characters, starting with the protagonist Miho. While they are admired and gain attention as the "Koigahama Highlands," when it comes to love, they are still timid and naive like high school students. Watching them being swayed by love is heart-pounding. The depiction of their emotional subtleties is very delicate, making it a work that stimulates the imagination from each manga panel.
Q2. What are your thoughts on playing Kizuki Hazawa?
Kizuki usually shows little expression and is hard to read, but he is actually straightforward and easy to understand. I want to convey his unique mysteriousness and directness, and carefully express each of his lines to naturally communicate his feelings.
Shion Yoshitaka's Comments:
Q1. What do you think is the charm of this work?
It's a work that makes me want to cherish both the time I'm living now and the days of my youth. Watching Miho and the four boys who are brightly in love and experiencing true youth fills my heart with something I had forgotten. It gives me the power to keep going tomorrow.
Q2. What are your thoughts on playing Shin Kashiwagi?
I'm very happy and excited to play Shin. He's a model student, cool and handsome, but also shows a slightly cute side in front of Miho. I hope to bring Shin to life in the anime, making him feel real. Please support me as I breathe life into him while reminiscing about my own youth!
Shoya Chiba's Comments:
Q1. What do you think is the charm of this work?
I was captivated by the manga when I read it for the audition. The depiction of water, such as the ocean in the town, Kizuki's pool for club activities, and the showers, is beautiful. The fresh atmosphere of the story gave a beautiful impression of youth. I was drawn to the detailed psychological portrayals of the characters and the time axis structure. The story begins with a monologue from future Miho, and the insertion of future (and sometimes past) perspectives makes even ordinary events seem memorable. It's a work with straightforward, thrilling developments and mature depth, with new discoveries every time you rewatch it. I'm delighted to be a part of it!
Q2. What are your thoughts on playing Ai Izumi?
I hope to be a likable presence to the viewers and those around Miho. Although he appears cheerful and high-spirited, I want to ensure he doesn't come across as frivolous. Considering his background and the fact that he often interacts with adults, he has a keen ability to read the room. I interpret his role as a fundamentally "good guy," and I strive to make that my core. I also hope to brighten up the recording atmosphere with my fellow cast members.
Satoshi Inomata's Comments:
Q1. What do you think is the charm of this work?
The usual close-knit group of five childhood friends. The unshakeable feelings of love, realizing those feelings, and sometimes preferring to stay friends out of fear of ruining the relationship. It's reminiscent of those bittersweet and thrilling high school days, making me nostalgic for when I was too scared to confess my feelings. I hope you enjoy their "sparkling youth."
Q2. What are your thoughts on playing Shugo Hoshikawa?
I'm Satoshi Inomata, and I will be playing Shugo Hoshikawa. Shugo, the bespectacled, handsome, literary boy, often plays the role of comic relief, but he keeps a close eye on his four dear childhood friends and acts as a key mediator. While he seems mature, he's actually a boy who's likely trying to appear grown-up. I'll do my best to portray him as an authentic high schooler!
