Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Selling Like Hotcakes! Surpasses 22 Million Copies in Print as Excitement Continues Post-Anime
The cumulative number of copies of the manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End" has surpassed 22 million.
This was announced on the official X account with the message, "[Reprints Coming] Surpassed 22 million copies! Thank you for your continued support," highlighting that the number of copies of the original manga continues to grow even after the anime finished airing in March.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End," serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" since April 2020, is a post-heroic fantasy that depicts the aftermath of a hero party's defeat of the Demon King. The story follows the elf mage Frieren, who embarks on new adventures with new companions in a world without the hero.
The manga's unique post-Demon King narrative, touching drama and dialogues, battles with magic and swords, and humor have captured a large readership. The series won the Grand Prize at the 2021 Manga Taisho Awards and has now exceeded 22 million copies in print. The TV anime adaptation aired from September 2023 to March 2024.
