Under the supervision of the original author, Kanehito Yamada, the novel, written by author Hachimoku Mei, delves into a story not depicted in the main series. It explores Frieren's journey "to know people" just before she embarks on her travels.

The collection consists of five short stories, each focusing on different characters: Frieren, Fern, Stark, Lawine & Kanne, and Aura. The newly released opening of Aura's prequel features the line, "The demons these days are so sloppy," and introduces a story involving the hero Himmel.

"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" since April 2020 and portrays a "post-epic fantasy" following a hero's party after defeating the Demon Lord. The story chronicles the new adventures of the elven mage Frieren and her new companions in a world without the hero.

The narrative unfolds in an innovative timeline set after the defeat of the Demon Lord, capturing readers with its poignant drama, humorous dialogues, magical and sword battles. This popular series, which won the Grand Prize at the "Manga Awards 2021," has exceeded a total of 20 million copies in circulation.
