Episode 40 of You and Idol Pretty Cure (Kimi to Idol Prett Cure, キミとアイドルプリキュア♪), the 22nd installment in the Pretty Cure anime series, has released its story preview and early scene stills. This Episode will air on Sunday, November 16, at 8:30 AM on Japanese TV, followed by international streaming on various platforms.

Episode 40 Story

Nana Aokaze (Cure Wink, voiced by Minami Takahashi), who receives a plane ticket and concert invitation from her mother Mutsumi Aokaze, a pianist living overseas. Traveling to France with her father Hajime Aokaze, Nana enjoys her mother’s concert and a long-awaited time together as a family of three.

After performing the piano for her mother, Nana spends a quiet evening as Mutsumi brushes her hair and reminisces about the days before she moved abroad. During their heartfelt conversation, Mutsumi makes a surprising proposal.

The next day, Uta Sakura (Cure Idol, voiced by Misato Matsuoka) and the others receive a message from Nana. She reveals that her mother has asked, “Why don’t you stay and live in France?”—a question that leaves her deeply conflicted.

The theme of You and Idol Pretty Cure revolves around idols. With the belief that "Because you're here, I can shine and become stronger!", the Pretty Cure idols sing, dance, and engage with fans, using their performances to restore Kirakira to those who have lost it.

The story follows Uta Sakura, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing. One day, she meets Purirun, a fairy searching for the Idol Pretty Cure, the legendary savior of Kirakiland. Kirakiland has been plunged into darkness by Darkine, the leader of the Chokkiri Gang.

As the Chokkiri Gang begins stealing the Kirakira from townspeople, a desperate Uta declares, "I want to bring back the Kirakkiranran feeling! With my song!" Her determination resonates, and she transforms into the legendary Cure Idol.
