In Episode 2, Kagaya's messenger crow suddenly appears at Tamayo's place, inviting the demon Tamayo to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. Meanwhile, at the Butterfly Mansion, Tanjiro receives a letter from Kagaya and visits Giyu, who has not been participating in the training. Despite initial rejections, Tanjiro persistently talks to Giyu. Finally, Giyu, worn down by Tanjiro's persistence, begins to explain why he is not participating in the training. "Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc" covers the episodes from volumes 15-16 of the original manga, where Tanjiro and his friends undergo training from the highest-ranking swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Hashira, to become stronger.

"Demon Slayer" is based on the manga of the same name, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from February 2016 to May 2020, and has surpassed 150 million copies in circulation. Set in a world inhabited by man-eating demons during the Taisho era, the story follows a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, whose family is slaughtered by demons. To turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human and avenge his family, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps and sets out on a journey.

The first season of the TV anime aired from April to September 2019, igniting its popularity and becoming a social phenomenon. The film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train," which continues from the final episode of the anime, was released in October 2020, becoming a massive hit with over 40 billion yen in domestic box office revenue. The second season, "Entertainment District Arc," aired from December 2021, followed by the third season, "Swordsmith Village Arc," which began airing in April 2023.
