Today, May 10th, is the birthday of Rengoku Kyojuro, a character from the TV anime "Demon Slayer." To commemorate this, a special illustration was released on the official X account of the animation studio ufotable.

On X, it was announced: "Today, May 10th, is the birthday of Rengoku Kyojuro from the anime 'Demon Slayer.' This year's birthday celebration features a special newly drawn illustration themed around a birthday cake. We will also celebrate online as well as at the Demon Slayer collaboration cafe."

"Demon Slayer," which ran in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from February 2016 to May 2020, is based on the manga of the same name and has surpassed 150 million copies in circulation.

Set in the Taisho era in a world inhabited by man-eating demons, the story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy whose family was killed by demons. To turn his demon-transformed sister Nezuko back into a human and avenge his family, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps and embarks on a journey.

The first season of the TV anime aired from April to September 2019, igniting its popularity and becoming a social phenomenon. The story continued with the blockbuster movie "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train," which was released in October 2020 and grossed over 40 billion yen in Japan. Following the movie, the second season of the anime, "Entertainment District Arc," aired from December 2021, and the continuation, the third season "Swordsmith Village Arc," started airing in April 2023.
