The two newly introduced ride attractions are based on the globally popular "Swordsmith Village Arc" broadcast last year and the eagerly anticipated latest series "Hashira Training Arc" that began airing on May 12, 2024. Guests can dive into park-original stories set in these arcs, experiencing the world of "Demon Slayer" with an immersive intensity found only at Universal Studios Japan. The "Demon Slayer XR Ride – Rush Through Swordsmith Village" launching on July 19 sends guests on a mission to deliver a new sword to Tanjiro, racing through the demon-attacked Swordsmith Village. Utilizing VR technology to expand the "Demon Slayer" world in 360 degrees, the ride offers a thrilling coaster experience complete with sensations of speed, gravity, and wind, as guests join Tanjiro, the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, and the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji in battling the formidable Upper Rank demons Gyokko and Hantengu. It is a deeply immersive ride attraction where guests literally become part of the story. Moreover, "Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc × Hollywood Dream - The Ride" offers two park-original stories where guests can train with the Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro, and the Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima. This story coaster unique to Universal Studios Japan allows guests to fully immerse in the narrative, complete with realistic voices of the characters heard right by their ears.

Additionally, following the popularity of the "Nezuko Popcorn Bucket," the new "Tanjiro Gourd Popcorn Bucket" inspired by the gourd Tanjiro used at the Butterfly Mansion for his "Total Concentration Breathing" training will be available starting July 18. It will be filled with mitarashi-flavored popcorn, a park-first and a favorite of the swordsmith Kotetsu Hotaru. The collaboration restaurant "Wisteria Flower Dining Hall" will also see its second phase starting July 19, featuring a new collaboration with food and drinks inspired by the "Swordsmith Village Arc."

"Demon Slayer," based on the manga of the same name serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from February 2016 to May 2020, has become a cultural phenomenon, with over 150 million copies of the comics sold. The story, set during the Taisho period, follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to seek revenge on the demon that killed his family and to turn his demon-transformed sister Nezuko back into a human.

The first season of the anime was broadcast from April to September 2019, igniting its popularity and social phenomenon status. The continuity from the anime's final episode led to the blockbuster film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train" in October 2020, which grossed over 40 billion yen in Japan. The anime's second season "Entertainment District Arc" aired from December 2021, and the third season "Swordsmith Village Arc" followed in April 2023.

The currently airing "Hashira Training Arc" is based on volumes 15-16 of the original manga, where Tanjiro and his comrades receive training from the corps' top-ranked swordsmen, the Hashira, to become stronger.
