Hanae, who voices protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, rewatched the film ahead of the event. Reflecting on the emotional journey Tanjiro has gone through in later arcs such as the Swordsmith Village Arc and Hashira Training Arc, Hanae said that rewatching Mugen Train made "every single scene tear-worthy." He emphasized that Rengoku’s vibrant and powerful presence made his eventual fate even more heartbreaking. “Even when the train is just rolling in the opening scene and I think of Rengoku, I already feel the tears coming,” he admitted.

Despite only spending a single day with Tanjiro, Rengoku became a profound source of emotional strength for him. Hanae pointed out that Tanjiro often recalls Rengoku's words to stay resilient. Hino, who plays Kyojuro Rengoku, added that this emotional impact is echoed by other characters as well—like Tengen Uzui and Mitsuri Kanroji—who reminisce about Rengoku, showing how deeply he’s embedded in everyone’s hearts.

Hanae went on to say, “Every time Tanjiro remembers Rengoku’s words, it moves me.” He expressed that in Tanjiro’s heart, Rengoku is very much still alive.

Rengoku’s Words Inspire Hanae in Real Life

The connection runs deeper than the story for Hanae. He revealed that even in his daily life and work, he sometimes recalls Rengoku’s words to push through difficult moments. “Just like Tanjiro, I feel that Rengoku is a huge presence in my life.” Even brief reappearances of Rengoku in later anime episodes are enough to bring Hanae to tears: “Even just 2-3 seconds of seeing him gets me emotional.”

Hino, amused and moved by Hanae’s confession, joked that it felt a bit “unfair.” He also shared his own joy at being involved in the project again, as he once thought his time with Demon Slayer had come to an end.

Cast’s Passion Builds Toward the Final Battle

Rengoku's legacy continues to uplift the morale of the entire Demon Slayer Corps, and the cast is channeling that energy into the story’s climax. “We’re all extremely fired up for the final battle,” they said. Hanae added that Hino’s passionate performance inspires the rest of the cast to give their all. He also revealed that recording for the Infinity Castle Arc has already wrapped up, stating with confidence, “It’s truly something incredible.”

In closing, Hanae left a heartfelt message to fans: “I hope you’ll burn the image of Rengoku into your memory over and over again. I’ll continue to keep my heart ablaze as well.”
