Demon Slayer Warns Against Illegal Filming as Exclusive Mugen Castle Arc Trailer Leaks Online

The trailer in question plays at the end of the revival screening of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which has been showing in theaters since May 9. This new trailer features never-before-seen footage, making it a major highlight for fans. However, the official X account confirmed that recordings of this theater-only preview have surfaced online without authorization.

“We have confirmed that the exclusive trailer for the Mugen Castle Arc, which plays at the end of the currently screening Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Revival, has been illegally recorded and uploaded online,” the statement read.

The post emphasized that filming inside movie theaters constitutes a criminal offense under Japan’s Act on Prevention of Unauthorized Recording of Films (commonly referred to as the Anti-Camcording Law). Furthermore, uploading such footage to platforms like X, YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook is a violation of copyright law.

“Illegal recording in theaters is a criminal act. Uploading such recordings to social media platforms constitutes copyright infringement. Violations of the Anti-Camcording Law and Copyright Law may be subject to up to 10 years of imprisonment, a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both,” the official account warned.

The Mugen Train Revival is a special five-week theatrical run, while the highly anticipated Mugen Castle Arc will debut its first chapter in theaters on July 18.

About Demon Slayer

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has surpassed 150 million copies in cumulative manga sales. Set in Japan's Taisho era, the story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who joins the Demon Slayer Corps after his family is slaughtered by demons and his sister Nezuko is turned into one. His mission: to find a way to turn her back into a human.

The anime adaptation began with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc broadcast in 2019, followed by the record-breaking release of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train in October 2020. The saga continued with the Entertainment District Arc in December 2021, the Swordsmith Village Arc in April 2023, and most recently, the Hashira Training Arc aired from May to June 2024.

The upcoming Infinity Castle Arc serves as the direct sequel to the Hashira Training Arc and will be presented as a three-part theatrical release.

Story Summary of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc

Tanjiro Kamado, who joined the Demon Slayer Corps in hopes of saving his demon-turned sister Nezuko, fought alongside close allies Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira, growing stronger through numerous battles. He also shared fierce encounters with elite swordsmen known as the Hashira: Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku in the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui in the Entertainment District, and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji in the Swordsmith Village.

As the Corps prepares for the final battle against demons, the Hashira and their comrades undergo intensive joint training. But their efforts are abruptly disrupted when Muzan Kibutsuji, the originator of all demons, appears at the Demon Slayer Corps' headquarters. In a sudden twist, Tanjiro and the Hashira are pulled into a mysterious dimension—Infinity Castle, the stronghold of the demons.

Thus begins the final confrontation between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons.
