Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of its popular cultural event series Universal Cool Japan 2025, which will run throughout the year. As part of its second installment, USJ has announced its first-ever collaboration with the hit anime The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto).

Alongside the announcement, fans can look forward to an authentic, limited-time attraction that brings the world of The Apothecary Diaries to life inside the park.

Currently, the ongoing Universal Cool Japan event lineup includes the park’s first-ever live mystery show, based on Keigo Higashino’s Masquerade series, titled The Targeted Masquerade Ball, and Detective Conan World, where guests join Conan and his friends in solving mysteries. These attractions will be available through June 30, 2025.

Further details about the third installment of Universal Cool Japan 2025—including specifics on the Apothecary Diaries attraction, exclusive themed food items, and original merchandise—will be released in the coming months.

The Apothecary Diaries is a mystery-entertainment anime set in a palace on a distant continent, where a former apothecary girl named Maomao uses her knowledge of poisons and medicine to solve various puzzling incidents within the imperial court. The show not only entertains with its mysteries but also teaches audiences about the dangers and benefits of herbal knowledge hidden in daily life.
