The upcoming television anime With You and the Rain is set to premiere in July on TV Asahi’s nationwide NUMAnimation programming block. Along with this announcement, six additional cast members have been revealed.

Anna Mugiho will voice Kimi, the peculiar "dog" taken in by the protagonist Fuji. Other newly announced cast members include:
Yoji Ueda as Tatsuo, Fuji’s father
Mie Sonozaki as Michiko, Fuji’s mother
Kikunoshin Toya as Teru, Fuji’s twin brother
Yumiri Hanamori as Wako, Teru’s wife
Chafurin as the veterinarian from the nearby animal clinic

A Heartwarming Tale of a Girl and a Mysterious "Dog"

With You and the Rain has been serialized in Weekly Young Magazine (Kodansha) since August 2020. This slice-of-life story follows the bond between a young woman and an unusual "dog" she encounters on a rainy day. The series has surpassed 500,000 copies in circulation.

Synopsis

On a rainy day, one girl and one "dog" meet.

While walking home drenched from the rain, Fuji comes across an oddly peculiar "dog." The dog, using a flip board, pleads "Please take me in", while also offering Fuji (CV: Saori Hayami) a folded umbrella. But this "dog" seems… more than just unusual?

Thus begins a charming, slightly eccentric companionship—eating together, going out, chatting (?), and enjoying the changing seasons. A warm and gentle story about a girl and a strange but endearing "dog," sharing their quiet yet precious everyday life together.
