The Water Magician Novel Adaptation Announced as TV Anime, Premiering in July
The novel The Water Magician by Tadashi Kubou has been announced as a TV anime, set to air on TBS and other networks starting in July.
A Tale of Magic, Survival, and Growth
The story follows Ryo, a young man reincarnated in another world who casts his first spell, conjuring a glass of water. What begins as a slow-paced life evolves into a daily struggle for survival, filled with battles against a headless knight, attacks by assassin hawks, and encounters with dragons.
Living alone on the isolated subcontinent of Londe, Ryo’s carefree attitude—and perhaps his hidden skill, “Ageless”—allows him to endure two decades of these trials. Over time, he becomes the world’s most powerful magician. His fateful meeting with Abel, a genius swordsman, eventually propels him to the forefront of history.
Author Tadashi Kubou’s Comments
“Congratulations on the anime adaptation! And thank you! I’d like to congratulate my ‘child’ (The Water Magician), who has grown so much that it’s now being adapted into an anime. A heartfelt thank you to the readers who supported the story and to everyone who made the anime possible.
Seeing Ryo and Abel, who have been running and jumping around in my head, come to life for all of you is an incredible thrill. I’m genuinely excited to watch their journey alongside everyone.”
