About the Series

Rent-A-Girlfriend Volume 1

Rent-A-Girlfriend Volume 1

Rent-A-Girlfriend is based on the manga by Reiji Miyajima, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017. The story follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a hapless university student who falls for Chizuru Mizuhara, a stunningly beautiful "rental girlfriend." Despite her secret identity as a reserved student at the same university, Kazuya and Chizuru navigate a fake relationship fraught with comedic misunderstandings, heartwarming moments, and drama involving family, friends, and ex-girlfriends.

The manga has surpassed 13 million copies in circulation. The anime debuted its first season in 2020, followed by Season 2 in 2022, and Season 3 in 2023. In 2022, the series was also adapted into a live-action drama.

Season 4 Story Highlights

The fourth season delves deeper into Kazuya and Chizuru's evolving relationship. After successfully completing a crowdfunding campaign for Chizuru’s film, Kazuya gathers the courage to confront his true feelings. Meanwhile, Ruka Sarashina becomes even more assertive in her pursuit of Kazuya, and Mami Nanami, Kazuya’s sly ex-girlfriend, makes bold moves to complicate matters.

Adding to the tension, the Hawaiians Arc promises to take the drama to a new setting, where the "fake" relationship faces challenges that could determine whether it transforms into something real.
