Uma Musume Cinderella Gray Set to Air in April 2025

The popular Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise has announced its latest TV anime adaptation, Uma Musume Cinderella Gray, which will air in a split-cour format starting April 2025 on TBS.

A Beloved Franchise with a New Chapter

Uma Musume reimagines real-life racehorses as vibrant characters in a cross-media franchise spanning games, manga, and anime. Following successful anime seasons in 2018, 2021, and 2023, and the release of its first feature film in 2024, this new series adapts the hit manga Uma Musume Cinderella Gray from Weekly Young Jump, which has surpassed 6 million copies in circulation.

The story centers on Oguri Cap, a gray-haired girl who rises from her humble beginnings in rural racing to legendary status in the central racing world. Dubbed the "monster," her Cinderella story captures her transformation into one of the strongest Uma Musume. This adaptation coincides with the 40th anniversary of the real-life Oguri Cap’s birth, adding to the series' emotional weight.

Directed by Yūkoku Itō, with series composition by Takeshi Kindaichi and character design by Takuya Miyahara and Keigo Sasaki, the anime is produced by CygamesPictures.
