■Official Profile
A male-only alien species that clones individuals to increase their numbers. They target human women to restore their reproductive capabilities.

■Serpoians Overview
The Serpoians are a species of aliens that disguise themselves as adult human males with disproportionately large heads. (Details about one specific individual, "Serpo No. 6," are explained separately.) Serpoians are an all-male species that reproduce through cloning technology.

Due to their unique cloning methods, inbreeding has advanced within their species, leading to a loss of emotional capacity. In an attempt to resolve this, they aim to restore their reproductive functions by abducting human males and females to study their sexual organs.

Their methods for experimenting on females are particularly grotesque: they use psychokinesis to heighten the victim’s libido and then insert mechanical, torture-like genitalia into the female reproductive system to extract the uterus for study.

Despite these heinous actions, the Serpoians claim they seek friendly relations with humans. However, their lack of emotions results in ethics that deviate significantly from human standards. They even state they cannot coexist peacefully with beings they consider violent.

The Serpoians are the first aliens introduced in the story. Momo Ayase, who did not believe in aliens, encounters a trio of Serpoians in an abandoned hospital. They attempt to use her as a test subject, but they are ultimately defeated by Okarun (possessed by Turbo Granny) and Momo, who awakened her psychic powers after the Serpoians stimulated her brain.

Later in the story, one individual, Serpo No. 6, forms a cooperative relationship with Momo and Okarun.

Serpoians rely on cloning technology to reproduce, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem independent of traditional biological reproduction. Their technological prowess is exceptional, allowing them to modify or fuse other aliens and UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animals) using advanced devices.

Here are the key abilities of the Serpoians:

1. Telekinesis: "Rokkon"
The Serpoians wield a telekinetic ability called "Rokkon" to manipulate objects freely and attack opponents. This power is used effectively in both combat and their research activities.

2. Serpo-Style Surveying
With their unique surveying technology, Serpoians can analyze and measure objects with extraordinary precision. This capability is critical in combat and scientific research, where accuracy is paramount.

3. Communication Cables
Serpoians utilize specialized communication cables to forcibly merge with other aliens or UMA. Once fused, they gain access to enhanced abilities, significantly increasing their power.

While Serpoians primarily rely on their advanced technology and intelligence, their individual combat strength is not as high as some other aliens. However, their ability to fuse with other species using their communication cables allows them to achieve extraordinary power, making them formidable adversaries.

Kazuya Nakai

The Serpoians are voiced by Kazuya Nakai, a highly acclaimed voice actor known for his roles in popular anime. Some of his most notable characters include Roronoa Zoro in One Piece and Toshiro Hijikata in Gintama.

In the Anime Dandadan, multiple Serpoians are voiced by Kazuya Nakai, who adjusts his voice tone for each individual.

Why Did the Serpoians Abduct Momo and Attack Her?

In Dandadan, the Serpoians abducted Momo Ayase and attempted to attack her because they are a species incapable of natural reproduction. By studying human reproductive functions, they hoped to secure the survival of their kind.

The Serpoians consist only of males and rely on cloning technology to reproduce. However, they recognized the limitations of cloning and became concerned about their species’ future. This led them to focus on studying human reproductive systems, particularly female reproductive capabilities.

Momo was kidnapped by the Serpoians and taken aboard their spaceship to be used as a subject for their reproductive research. However, during this ordeal, Momo awakened her latent psychic abilities and successfully defeated the Serpoians.

This pivotal event marked the awakening of Momo’s powers, which she would later use to fight against various supernatural entities and aliens throughout the story.

Serpo No. 6 (Rokuro)

Serpo No. 6 (Rokuro) is one of the individual Serpoians. He is one of the few survivors of a Serpoian group attacked by an invading alien force known as the Kur from another galaxy. Through these harrowing experiences and interactions with humans, Rokuro developed a sense of self-awareness, leading to his exile from his own kind.

Rokuro is characterized by his gentlemanly demeanor. When he saved the mortally wounded Bamora, Momo remarked, “I hate the Serpoians, but I don’t hate Rokuro.”

Since then, Rokuro has adapted to life on Earth, fully embracing a part-time worker’s lifestyle. Following the Bamora arc, he continues to appear in later episodes, including the Zuma arc, where he rushes in during moments of crisis, proving to be a reliable ally.

The Origin of the Serpoians

The inspiration for the Serpoians comes from the American urban legend known as "Project Serpo." This alleged secret program from the 1960s claims that the U.S. government conducted an exchange program, sending 12 American military personnel to the planet "Serpo" in the Zeta Reticuli star system.

In Dandadan, the Serpoians' appearance combines elements from classic characters in the Ultraman series, particularly Alien Pegassa and Dada, with the addition of prominent lips. Like Dada, the Serpoians speak to humans in polite, formal language.
