"Violet Evergarden: The Movie" received Dolby Cinema Japan Awards 2024, commemorative screening with replica tickets to be distributed
To celebrate the Dolby Cinema version of "Violet Evergarden: The Movie" winning the "First Dolby Cinema Award" at the "Dolby Cinema Japan Awards 2024," the film will be screened at ten theaters nationwide starting November 15.
The film was first released in Dolby Cinema on November 13, 2020, as the first new theatrical anime in Japan to do so. To make use of the Dolby Vision projection system, the color grading was redone in HDR, and the upscaling technology "FORS EX PICTURE" was applied to achieve a clearer and sharper finish.
This time, three new theaters have been added for the Dolby Cinema screenings, bringing the total to ten theaters nationwide. As a gift for attendees, replica tickets commemorating the Dolby Cinema experience will be distributed.
