A new 'Godzilla' movie has been confirmed for production. The announcement was made during the ending of the film 'Godzilla Minus One,' broadcast on the Nippon TV network's "Friday Roadshow" today, along with a promotional video. Takashi Yamazaki, who achieved numerous feats with 'Godzilla Minus One,' will serve once again as director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor for this 31st entry in the series. The 30th Japanese-produced live-action Godzilla film, 'Godzilla Minus One' (2023), released on November 3, celebrated as "Godzilla Day," surpassed 7.65 billion yen in box office revenue, making it the top live-action Japanese film of 2023.
Furthermore, it became the first Asian film to win the Best Visual Effects award at the 96th Academy Awards. It also won over 50 Best Awards at international film festivals and achieved a monumental sweep at the 47th Japan Academy Awards, winning in eight categories, including Best Picture. The movie truly created a Godzilla-sized sensation both domestically and internationally.
