My Hero Academia Celebrates Hero Day with a Special Anniversary Movie
Since 2018, June 16 has been recognized as “Hero Day” by the anime series. The date commemorates the broadcast of Episode 49, “One For All,” from Season 3, which featured the legendary battle between All Might and All For One. Each year, various projects have been launched to celebrate the occasion, and this year’s Hero Day event serves as part of the anime’s 10th anniversary memorial celebration.
Deku’s Journey Brought to Life Through “You Say Run”
The newly released video follows the journey of protagonist Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, beginning with the moment he first looked up to the “Symbol of Peace,” All Might, as a child.
The film traces the path that led Deku toward becoming a hero after being inspired by All Might’s unforgettable words:
“You can become a hero.”
His story unfolds alongside “You Say Run,” one of the most iconic pieces of music from the My Hero Academia anime soundtrack.
Original Anime Staff Reunite for the 10th Anniversary Project
The special video was created by a team that has been involved with the anime since its earliest days. Among them is animator Yoshihiko Umakoshi, who has contributed key animation, character designs, and visual artwork throughout the series.
The project adds new life to the story while embodying the spirit of “PLUS ULTRA,” the franchise’s signature message of pushing beyond one’s limits. The result is a fitting tribute to the anime’s milestone anniversary.
More 10th Anniversary Projects Planned
As part of the ongoing My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary celebration, additional projects and announcements are planned in the coming months.
