Jujutsu Kaisen to Resume Serialization in July 8 Issue After One-Week Delay; Author's Health Recovered

The official Jump website has announced that the manga "Jujutsu Kaisen," which had been on hiatus due to the sudden illness of its creator Gege Akutami, will resume serialization in the 32nd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, set to be released on July 8.

The site reported, "Although 'Jujutsu Kaisen' was scheduled to resume in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 31 (on sale July 1), it will now resume in issue 32 (on sale July 8)."

They also stated, "Akutami-sensei's health has recovered, but after consulting with Akutami-sensei, we decided it was best for him to resume writing in perfect condition. We appreciate your continued support for 'Jujutsu Kaisen.'"

Regarding the hiatus, it was announced in the June 10 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump that the manga would take a two-issue break due to Akutami's sudden illness, with plans to resume serialization in issue 31, on sale July 1.

The manga 'Jujutsu Kaisen,' which began serialization in 'Weekly Shonen Jump' in March 2018, is a dark fantasy that follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he enters the world of battles against curses after the seal of a powerful "Cursed Object" is broken.

The manga has surpassed 90 million copies in circulation. The TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021 and gained immense popularity. A theatrical anime was released in December 2021, and the second season of the TV anime will air from July to December 2023. Additionally, a sequel titled 'Jujutsu Kaisen: The Shibuya Incident' is set to be produced.
