Additionally, comments conveying their current feelings about the series finale have arrived from Hiroshi Kamiya, who plays Ataru Moroboshi, and Sumire Uesaka, who plays Lum. Kamiya expressed, "I was happy to be involved in 'Urusei Yatsura,' which I love! I am grateful to everyone involved in the production! And Ataru, thank you so much! Ah, it was fun!!"

Uesaka commented, "I am truly, truly happy to have been able to play Lum-chan for four seasons! I feel honored to have played my beloved Lum-chan up to the 'Boy Meets Girl' story, even though I feel a bit sad to see the series end."

"Urusei Yatsura" is based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" from 1978 to 1987. It is a romantic comedy about Ataru Moroboshi, the earth's "most notorious" high school student, and Lum, a beautiful alien girl. The series is filled with boldness, full-hearted love, and a hint of melancholy, brought to life by a cast of characters from across the galaxy.

The series has been adapted into games and theatrical anime, with the original TV anime airing from 1981 to 1986. The completely new TV anime, consisting of four seasons, began airing in October 2022, marking a return after 36 years.

Full Comment from Hiroshi Kamiya (Ataru Moroboshi)

"When I looked it up, the audition was in January 2021. The role was decided, and recording began at the end of that year... At that time, I thought the road to the final episode would be long, but now the final episode has already aired...! It really went by in a flash. I think that shows how fulfilling the time spent was! I was happy to be involved in 'Urusei Yatsura,' which I love! I am grateful to everyone involved in the production! And Ataru, thank you so much! Ah, it was fun!!"

Full Comment from Sumire Uesaka (Lum)

"I am truly, truly happy to have been able to play Lum-chan for four seasons! I feel honored to have played my beloved Lum-chan up to the 'Boy Meets Girl' story, even though I feel a bit sad to see the series end.

I fell in love with 'Urusei Yatsura' through the anime reruns, collected the original comics and merchandise, and had many favorite characters during my student days. My feelings for Lum-chan, who is cute, devoted, jealous, a bit mysterious, and the strongest, have never changed. I never thought there would come a day when I could be close to her as a cast member.

Since passing the audition and starting the recording, I have spent my days in a dreamlike, fun, and happy state. The anime broadcast is now complete, but I sincerely hope for another opportunity to voice Lum-chan again someday...! For that day, I will keep myself in top condition!

To everyone who has always loved 'Urusei Yatsura,' and to everyone who discovered 'Urusei Yatsura' through this anime, thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.
I believe 'Urusei Yatsura' is a work that will be read and loved for decades, even centuries, across generations.
Let's continue to love the world of 'Urusei Yatsura' together for a long, long time! Thank you for your continued support!"
