Demon Slayer Stars Hiro Shimono & Yoshitsugu Matsuoka Try Waterfall Training for the First Time: "Natsuki and Kitou Couldn't Handle It" - Mysterious Hermit Appears [Video Released]
On the 19th, Aniplex's official YouTube channel released a video featuring Hiro Shimono (voice of Zenitsu Agatsuma) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (voice of Inosuke Hashibira) attempting waterfall training for the first time, as a promotional activity linked to the currently airing "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hashira Training Arc."
o commemorate the "Hashira Training Arc" currently being broadcast, Shimono (Zenitsu) and Matsuoka (Inosuke) took on the challenge of "waterfall training" for the first time in their lives.
The training took place in Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The "Ashigara Hermit," who has been practicing waterfall training for 44 years and guides tourists safely through the process, appeared to instruct the two beginners correctly.
The training was conducted at the "Yuhino Falls," which has a drop of about 23 meters and a width of about 5 meters. This waterfall is said to be where the legendary Kintaro once had his first bath.
Despite being overwhelmed by the powerful flow of the waterfall, the two started with a purification ritual before the training. Following the hermit’s instructions filled with humor, Shimono and Matsuoka finally shouted "Ei!" with determination and entered the water.
As they braved the much colder-than-expected water temperature, the two headed towards the waterfall basin. Like the Demon Slayer Corps members training under Gyomei Himejima, they steeled themselves to complete the task and endured the fierce water flow, successfully completing their training. Shimono, moved by his first waterfall training, exclaimed, "This is amazing!" In contrast, Matsuoka, expressing the harshness of the experience, remarked, "Natsuki (Hanae) and Kitou couldn't handle this," yet he also showed a glowing expression of achievement.
Feeling the effects of the training deeply, the two exclaimed, "Our bodies feel hot!" They reflected on how intense the training of the Demon Slayer Corps members must be, gaining a new appreciation for their rigorous training.
